  • Multicultural and Worldview Day - Steel Pan Workshop

    Published 23/05/25

Today we had our Multicultural and Worldview Day. Once again, the children had a fantastic opportunity to explore and celebrate different cultures and beliefs, whilst developing an understanding and appreciation for diversity.

All the children engaged in an educational workshop hosted by Irie Steel pan Workshops, who are a highly respectable family company from Jamaican heritage but born and bred in London. To begin with, the children watched an initial live performance to immerse themselves followed by each class having a workshop where they all had the opportunity to experience and learn how to play the steel pan, dance, learn about musical culture and its history and how the steel pans are made and played. Throughout the day, the school has been filled with sweet melodies and tunes from this unique and wonderful instrument.

Once again, we have ensured that we continue to provide an enriching educational experience for our children that was memorable and valuable for all.
