All the teachers and children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character for World Book Day. It was lovely to see all the wonderful learning activities that were linked to Reading. Congratulations to our 'best' dressed winners.
This afternoon, Year 3 Berners-Lee class performed their assembly to parents. The assembly had some key messages about Safer Internet Day, which was on Tuesday 7th February and how we can be safe online.
The class were very confident speaking to a captive audience and also performed a superb song and rap. Well done.
Today the school had our final Children's Mental Health assembly. All the children understood how many better connections with their family, friends and community can have a positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
Congratulations to our Year 2 class, Hawking who have had the highest attendance this half term. They all really enjoyed their Attendance Breakfast reward this morning.
This week it is Children's Mental Health Week and this year's theme is 'Let's Connect.' Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections. People thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. We want the children at Delta to have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support their mental health and their sense of wellbeing.
A special mention to our kindness green slip winners who showed extra kindness in the playground and got to choose a prize from the special prize bag. Kindness is our superpower!
We are so proud of all of our achievement award winners in celebration assembly this week! The children either received a special mention certificate or an Always star badge and certificate.

Today we have introduced the 'Delta Note home.' The teachers will be writing a 'Note home' for children who have made a positive impact towards their learning during the day and have been praised for their efforts.
It was wonderful to see so many parents who came to our first coffee morning with the new Headteacher, Sarah Roberts. Sarah officially introduced herself and discussed her expectations and her plans for the 'Delta Way.'
It was also an opportunity for parents to ask any questions and we hope Sarah and Bindya, the Deputy Headteacher were able to answer them fully. We looked forward to holding another coffee morning very soon.
What a great start to the new term! Today all the children have really enjoyed visiting the Pop-Up Bookshop that was set up in the school hall. All the books have been provided by The Children's Book Project.
The children will be bringing a bookmark and a free reading book of their choice home today.
There are still many books available, which we have put on the Pop-Up Bookshelf. The children can choose to dive into a book and read during playtimes.
